Newcastle have struck a provisional agreement over the sale of winger Miguel Almiron who’s also agreed personal terms, while the future of Joelinton is set to lay away from St. James’ Park after a troubling contract update.
Due to the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability regulations, there has been a lot of conjecture that this month at St. James Park, departures rather than arrivals are anticipated.
Bayern Munich is looking for Kieran Trippier, and Atletico Madrid has put in a loan request for Callum Wilson.
According to Christian Falk of BILD, Newcastle would not agree to sell 33-year-old Trippier until they received a €15 million payment. Bayern would rather loan Trippier, but so far Newcastle has turned down offers for both a loan and a permanent deal.
Wilson is one of Atletico’s backup options in the event that Moise Kean from Juventus cannot be signed. The possibility of losing Angel Correa to Al-Ittihad is the reason Atletico is looking for a new forward.
In other places, there has been conjecture that Newcastle would sell Alexander Isak or Bruno Guimaraes in order to make sure they have enough players for the summer.
Anyway, the updates for today include Joelinton and Almiron, who both appear to have a future away from Newcastle.
Double agreement on Almiron exit
First, dependable reporter Ben Jacobs disclosed that Newcastle and Al-Shabab, a Saudi Arabian team, have achieved a “provisional agreement” on Almiron’s transfer.
With 11 goals last season, the 29-year-old had his greatest season to date in the northeast. He’s hardly a sure starter anymore, though, since he’s had trouble maintaining that form.
Almiron, according to Jacobs, is “open to the move,” even though the transfer isn’t official yet.
Since then, TEAMtalk’s own sources have verified that Almiron and the Saudi side have verbally agreed on personal conditions.
Even if Jacobs doesn’t say it clearly, it makes sense that the agreement is about a permanent transfer rather than a loan. With their goal to recover fees, the Magpies would not benefit much from a loan transfer.
The Public Investment Fund does not own any of the four Saudi sides, including Al-Shabab. Nevertheless, Yannick Carrasco, a star player from Belgium, is one of their main players.
Newcastle ready to sell Joelinton amid contract stand-off
In other news, there is a concerning new high over Joelinton’s potential summer departure from Newcastle.
Ever since Eddie Howe moved the Brazilian into a midfield position, he has been nothing short of amazing. The 27-year-old will break down barriers for his colleagues and is a manager’s dream come true.
Joelinton’s Magpies contract, however, is set to expire in the summer of 2025. The Daily Mail claims that if an extension isn’t reached in the next five months, Newcastle will “almost certainly” sell Joelinton at the end of the current campaign.
There is little likelihood that Joelinton and Newcastle would reach an agreement on a new contract, according to a recent update from Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany.
Plettenberg said, “Clear tendency at this stage: Joelinton WON’T extend his contract beyond 2025,” as he addressed X.
Joelinton is scheduled for surgery to treat a thigh injury on Tuesday. Given the four months his recuperation is expected to take, it’s possible that his season is done.
However, Joelinton’s entire career with Newcastle is also in grave danger if new terms aren’t worked out.
According to The Mail, “his current wage demands beyond what the club’s hierarchy are willing to pay” are what are allegedly at the core of the contract standoff.
Joelinton and Newcastle, according to the study, “remain far apart on numbers,” which is concerning. Taking Plettenberg’s latest information into account, it appears like Joelinton won’t be playing for Newcastle in the upcoming campaign.
