TRAGIC REPORT: FORMER LAKERS HEAD COACH BYRON SCOTT PASS AWAY DUE….

Former Duke basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski emerged as a “respected unofficial resource” for the Los Angeles Lakers in their search for a new coach, per Shams Charania and Jovan Buha. That is part of the reason one of Krzyzewski’s former players, JJ Redick, is reportedly the favorite to earn the position.

Redick, who missed out on the Charlotte Hornets’ head-coaching position, played four seasons under Krzyzewski and the Blue Devils as a multi-time All-American. Krzyzewski retired after the 2021 season as one of college basketball’s all-time most successful coaches and has been connected to coaching searches in Los Angeles in the past before the Lakers hired Darvin Ham.

The Los Angeles Times reported last week that Redick is the favorite to lead the Lakers.
