As speculation and predictions about JJ Redick taking over as LA Lakers head coach continue to grow, it appears like Redick and the team may be headed in the same direction. Lakers reporters and NBA Insiders confirm these rumors.
Anthony Irwin, a Lakers insider and writer for Lakers Daily, backed up the allegations. He said he only heard good things about JJ Redick’s job interview. Irwin further noted that he was prepared to “just about claim” that Redick will start the Lakers’ upcoming season on the bench.
Irwin said, “It is just a matter of when, not if, that this gets announced,”
Marc Stein added, “More smoke to support the idea that ESPN’s JJ Redick is indeed the leading candidate for the Lakers head coaching job, rumbles about possible staff targets have already begin to circulate.”
Stein claims that Redick is already putting together a possible staff. To help him out on the bench, he could consider bringing in a few former NBA head coaches and Lakers players.
