Andy Gray has admitted that Newcastle United’s form on the road must now be a major worry for Eddie Howe, following his side’s 1-0 loss at Luton Town.
On Saturday afternoon, Newcastle was a strong favorite to defeat Luton in the Premier League.
But Newcastle was unable to respond to an Andros Townsend header in the 25th minute, and they suffered a devastating loss.
The outcome extended Newcastle’s horrendous away from St. James’ Park run of results, and Gray thinks Howe will be concerned about that.
After the game, Gray stated on beIN SPORTS, “They’ve been really bad away from home.”
“That would be the major concern.”
Since the beginning of November, Newcastle has not triumphed away from home in any competition,
so Howe will be aware that he needs to change that trend as soon as possible.
The Magpies have lost seven times, which is a worse record than any of the six teams above them in the table, and are currently seven points below fourth place in the league.
